eT.E.A.L. 4.0 Capstone

Course Overview

e.T.E.A.L. Capstone is an immersive, hands-on course designed for second-year students ready to take their skills to the next level. Building on the foundation from the introductory e.T.E.A.L. course, this capstone experience focuses on applying advanced manufacturing and electrical knowledge in real-world settings. Students will deepen their understanding of industry practices and technologies while preparing for professional opportunities in modern manufacturing.

Examples of Topics Your Capstone Could Focus On:

Advanced study of manufacturing systems, including the integration of electrical components, mechanical processes, and fluid power.

In-depth projects on automation, smart sensors, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

Hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools like CNC machines, robotics, and additive manufacturing, all centered on lean manufacturing principles and efficient production techniques.

Application of technical skills to real-world challenges through team-based problem-solving projects.

A significant portion of the course involves work-based learning, where students are placed at local manufacturing facilities or businesses based on their interests. In this placement, students will gain firsthand experience in professional environments, working alongside industry experts, and developing practical skills that are essential for success in the field. This real-world exposure helps students transition from classroom learning to actual career readiness.

By the end of the capstone, students will have strengthened their technical abilities and gained valuable industry experience.

This course is ideal for students who are serious about pursuing a career in advanced manufacturing, engineering, or automation and want to apply their learning in a professional setting.
